Booking information
While drop ins are always warmly welcomed, it really helps us plan if you can pre book using our event form.
- One to one consultations will prioritise individuals and families who have pre booked. During busy events, one to one consultations may need to be limited to 10-15 minutes.
- If you would like to arrange a community subsidised screener, please contact us via WhatsApp, email or Facebook with your booking number and we will reserve a screening voucher for you.
About Our Screeners
Our screeners are individually tailored and carried out by a specialist assessor. They are suitable for both children and adults and can be adapted depending on your situation, whether you are in school, at work, navigating co occurring needs, or exploring whether a full diagnostic assessment might be the right next step.
Screeners can be used to:
• provide targeted feedback for schools or home support
• identify key areas of need and practical next steps
• help you decide whether a full assessment would be beneficial
• offer clarity for individuals with complex or overlapping profiles
Each screener combines a short assessment with discussion so that your context, history and strengths are included in the picture, not just scores. Screeners are not a full diagnostic assessment; screeners cannot diagnose dyslexia or dyscalculia. They offer a risk of dyslexia (e.g. low or no risk, possible risk, high risk).
Pricing and Funded Support
Screeners at the Café are offered at a discounted rate of £45, subsidised by community funding. The standard fee, through our sister company (Dyslexia South East) without community funding is £95.
We never want cost to be a barrier. A small number of community funded screeners are available and may be allocated at our discretion for families experiencing financial hardship or significant need. Additional financial support may also be possible with appropriate evidence of circumstances. If you feel you may need help, please get in touch – we will always do our best to support you with compassion and without judgement.
Screeners are provided through our sister company, Dyslexia South East, and are available to all visitors to the Café.
Community Raffle
Everyone who signs in on the day (either through our online booking form or using a paper form at the event) will be entered into our Community Raffle. The draw will take place at 12pm.
