Dyslexia Advice and Support for Families

Understanding Dyslexia in Children

Understanding how dyslexia affects your child can make a world of difference. Whether you’re just beginning to explore concerns or already have a diagnosis, we’re here to help your family find practical strategies, confidence, and community support.

Dyslexia affects how the brain processes language, often making reading, spelling, and working memory harder — but it also brings strengths in creativity, reasoning, and problem-solving. Every child’s profile is unique. Early understanding and the right support can help children thrive both in school and at home

Our FREE DOWNLOADABLE GUIDE offers clear information for families supporting a child with dyslexia.

It covers early signs, school-based support, assessment routes, practical strategies, and how to navigate SEND processes in East Sussex.
